About Me

Hi, I'm Hannah. I'm a Clinical Psychologist and I specialise in working with children, teenagers and young adults experiencing trauma and/or anxiety-related difficulties.

I have worked across several NHS services with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. Some of the issues I work with are: trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); social anxiety; panic; phobias; worry and overthinking; obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD); exam stress; and school attendanceI also see many young people who have been diagnosed with autism.

My experience includes working in local and national specialist child & adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), children's social care and a specialist trauma service. In the NHS I have worked with survivors of rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse, and I have worked for a child sexual abuse prevention charity.

I work closely with parents/carers, schools, social care and other organisations and professionals to ensure the most appropriate support is in place for a child.

I use a range of therapeutic approaches, tailoring interventions to meet each individual's needs. I work creatively and playfully where appropriate. I draw upon each individual's strengths and interests to help make the therapeutic process more meaningful. Approaches I use include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitisation & reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, trauma-focussed cognitive behavioural therapy, compassion focussed therapy, acceptance & commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness.

Sessions with me take place either online via Zoom or another video platform, or face-to-face at the Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Buckhurst Hill, Essex, IG9 6EU.
